4/6/2024 0 Comments Krell ksa 200s reviewsIn the hot environment of a class A amp I suspect they are due replacement. The KSA-200s could be as early as 1993 or as late as 1996 and hence the caps are now 15-20 years old. Krells are hated by some in here but if your speakers need it they an be quite nice. Do you need more?Ī good serviced early model sounds pretty nice if a touch mellow - later models majored on dynamics with a loss of some sweetness. I don't have experience with many others to compare to my old ksa50 but it is reported by some that the later generations were not as good as the original and that the ksa50 is the sweetest of its generation.īear in mind a ksa50 is 50w class a but when hifi news tested it came out with a figure of over 100w into 8 ohms and pretty much doubling into lower loads. The ksa200s is one of the bigger models (no idea on full model range at that point) and later generation to the ksa50/100/200 etc. Add in service cost, labour and you will be lucky to have change from £500 and more for the larger models. A recap is a small fortune if the psu caps are swapped with even a ksa50 (smallest model) costing £300 in parts alone and that is without using original krell branded caps. IMHO if looking for an old krell buy on condition and ensure it has had a recent service and recap.
